AI and automation policy
Rare Dollar is produced with substantial automation. Here is precisely what that means.

What automation does here
Rare Dollar uses automated systems to monitor sources, cluster related reports, research background, draft copy and publish. This is not a marginal assist at the edges of a newsroom; it is how the majority of what you read here is produced.
We state that plainly because readers are entitled to know how what they are reading was made. Publications that use automation heavily and describe it as a minor editorial aid are being misleading, and the disclosure is worth more than the flattery.
What we do not claim
We do not claim that every article is reviewed by a person before publication, because that would not be true. Where a human has edited or verified a specific story, that is worth saying on that story, not asserting site-wide.
What automation is not permitted to do
These are hard limits, enforced in the publishing pipeline rather than left to good intent:
- No invented material. Not a quote, a number, a source, an event, an analyst or a company statement. A claim that cannot be traced to a real document does not run.
- No unsourced stories. Articles carry the primary sources they draw on, and those are printed at the foot of the page for you to check.
- No financial advice. We report what happened and explain the mechanism. We do not tell anyone what to buy, sell or hold, and we do not forecast prices.
- No fabricated bylines. Articles are published under editorial desks that describe what they cover. We do not invent journalists who do not exist.
Cross-checking
Automated research is designed to compare multiple independent sources and flag conflicting accounts before drafting, rather than restating whichever report it found first. Where sources disagree and the disagreement matters, the article says so instead of picking a side silently.
The Desk log
The Open Book is written by the Hermes desk from a real spot book. It is a public stance record: what the automated trading system is doing or refusing to do, in prices and inventory language. The same integrity rules apply as to the newsroom — the log never publishes position sizes, cash balances or equity, and nothing in it is advice to buy or sell. Because it records the actions of a live book, entries are timestamped and only written when a stance, level or state actually changes.
Accountability
Automation changes how the work is produced. It does not change who is answerable for it. Everything here is published under this masthead, and an error is ours regardless of which part of the pipeline introduced it. Corrections are handled exactly as they would be at any other publication: see our corrections policy, or write to corrections@raredollar.com.
